wattage heater for 125g

I think two 100w heaters on each end of the tank on the back would be fine. Or you can just do a 200w.

Get two 300 or 400 watt heaters. You'll be fine. Bigger tanks take longer to heat up, but longer to cool down so you won't need as many wattage as smaller tanks.

I concur

Honestly you won't go wrong with either a pair of 300 or 400 watt hydor theo's. I had a 300 watt in my 55 (thought it was a 150 but when I took my 55 down to sell it was a 300!) and it kept the water warm! The guy that had my 180 before me used just a single 300 with no problems.

Two smaller heaters > one large heater

If one malfunctions and heats up (heaters do do this) it won't be big enough to overheat kill everything in your tank.

Or, get a controller...
