I see everyone saying they use rollers to apply their fiberglass resin and their epoxies

Could one spray it

Also this maybe an odd question but I looked at fiberglass aquariums from dolphin fiberglass and expensive but nice !

How do they get their outside fiberglass walls so thick? What is the material? Could the same thing be done on the inner walls of a plywood tank

I'm still not ready to build my plywood tank bit I am determined to do so. You can build a huge plywood aquarium for the fraction of an all glass or acrylic tank the same size

I've even considering doing a tank the stacked method but using 2x6s instead of 2x4s.
One reason I am considering doing this is cause I really want a aquarium with 4 foot viewing windows.
I want this massive height look

I wouldn't spray it. You don't want air bubbles that would weaken it.

Many thick fiberglass things have fiberglass coating a shell of some kind. Sorry I made my first answer before I finished reading your questions.

Ok. Makes sense. I probably would have thought that had I actually thought :)

What do you think about the 4 foot height acrylic windows if I build it the stacked method with 2x6 s

A lot of people here say don't go that tall but ive seen successful builds in here with that height and even a little taller

I really like this forum. People seem to not flame people here. I've spent hours here and you would think I would be all ready to go. There's just so many options out there

You got fiberglass , different types at that , different epoxies , different liquid rubbers

The liquid rubber route is what I'm seeing that appeals to my eyes thus far as it can stretch and won't crack. I have also learned that sanitred liquid rubber will adhere to glass or acrylic thus eliminating the need for silicone or the Dow stuff I read people talking about

I'm so ready for 2 years to pass for when. I buy my 30x40 foot metal building(mancave).
It's going to be nothing but a open room containing some form of massive plywood aquarium Nd my current home theater system with hd 3d projector. It's gonna be a cool place ! :)

Vldesigns tank really inspires me. As well as some of the plywood builds that johng has done The only thing that I know I would be paranoid about on vldesigns tank is the 4x4 deprecating the windows. I want some more wood in there lol. I would probably interlock 2x6's on the front portion between the windows Might go a little wider as well.
