WC Ansorgii growth rate?

Ansorgii are by far the slowest lower jaw bichir when it comes to growth rate IMO. Mine took almost a year to get up to 15" and I bought it at 9".
Really... I didnt know this. I thought they were fast growers.
I got mine around 4" and they are 8" or so, maybe 3 or 4 months ago. But they havent hit the slow mark yet... I feed daily and do 75% water changes 1-2 times a week. Feed 2 times a day Cichlid Gold and market shrimp. I keep the tank at about 83*
I plan to add some strong current in the tank soon and will keep a close eye on the growth.

W/C or not... I lost one to a unknown parasite and another got the same thing... treated for a month or so and fully recovered (2nd pc)
Not to say it is not a F1 but just makes me wonder why I had a Ansorgii with a internal parasite from a 50gl that has been set up for well over a year.
Then again there were a few of them when I bought them

My WC ansorgii is growing pretty slowly. Don't have any numbers, but it is noticeably slower than most of my other polypterus.
