Wc Asthatheros Longimanus

I'm also a fan of the Astatheros genus, not commonly seen Central American eartheaters.
Had longimanus and nourisatti a few years back,

but now have a group of young rostratum growing out, and at some point want to try calobrensis and alfari.

Thanks, I agree I love them. I'm sure the being wild makes a difference but my Asthatheros Longimanus is so bossy. If it was bigger than my wild red devil it would own my tank. My wild devil stays in a corner of the tank, he doesn't even chase other fish, only the occasional pop if they hang in his space for too long.

Very nice! Love the color. I am surprised it is so bossy, but maybe it's because it's WC like you said. Astheros sp. seem to be a lot like thorichthys in the way that they are mostly all bluff.

Ironically the Asthatheros doesn't bother my Belodontichthys Truncatus, neither do really, the Devil will nudge occasionally but overall there's a lot of easy going fish. I'm remodeling springtime and build a 3-4xx and going to get a pair of cichla Kelberi and Green Snook with these other guys.

Yup that's pretty much my experience w/ astheros sp. My rostratus did kill an altifrons. Both were 2-3" and in a 72g which I was really surprised.
Your devil is amazing and that sounds like a great project and stock.

Thanks.

It's from lake Nic, it came in the same time my devil did. I just decided to pull the trigger a little while ago. He spent the summer in a pond, with a bunch of others from there.
