WC Lap not darkening up

I got a Nigerean Lapredei from TFD an I can see it's markings but it hasn't colored up fully and is still very pale, it's also being reluctant to eat....

Is it still pale because lack of food or is it perhaps stressed

idk, I myself have a lap that is pretty reluctant to eat, and he was very pale when he first came in. Since i got my red sand, he's darkened up quite a bit, but he's no where near my others in terms of coloration.

what color substrate do you have? if your sub is light that could be why

I'll post pics ASAP and its been about three weeks....I have "Peace River" gravel and it is a reddish color, all my other polys and fish for that matter are very well contrasted so

I just checked on her today after I installed my Magnum-250 and she's already darkened a little bit more. The first pic w/endli are from the week I got it and the second was just minutes ago
