I just got a nasty letter from a neighbor complaining about run off from my property. She sited that it is illegal because it washes toxins into the storm drains which led to the bay. I looked up the city code and there are exceptions like washing driveways, personal cars, pool water but aquarium water was not listed. I live on a hill and *** rolls down hill. What should I do?

Is this from your pond? I usually just water the plants, but if it's from your pond, that'll be a bit much, lol! How much water is being changed?

Tank water and pond water is fine to the enviroment as its natural and if there has been any camicals put in they deteriat in 1 week. If any thing its good. Its not like a detergent. Only other thing is to link it to your drain. Id ask the council first see if u can. But i can not see it been a prob as its not toxic

It's not from my pond. I never do WC on the pond. It's from my tanks. Maybe able 100g total out the garage door. Because the property is sloped there is no flat area for the water to be absorbed. The water runs downhill about 100 feet, enough for PITA neighbors to notice. It does not reach any street drains but their point is it washes accumilated contaminants down hill.

1st of all that is one picky and anoying neibor:wall:...! Just pour the water down the toilet... thats what I do with the pythoed water from my aquariums...

The garage is cut into the hillside...kinda underground so I would have to pump it upstairs into the sewer. Wife says I should wash her car everytime I do a WC to make it legal. Good try.
