We have an arowana that is only about 12" long and he is brutal. We had three oscars that were bigger than him and he beat them up and slammed them into the glass all day. (We finally had to get rid of them today) Any suggested tank mates for him? He is a silver by the way. We already have a catfish that he doesn't bother and we don't really want another one. I really really want a mbu and they are both very aggressive but do you think they would kill eachother? I don't want the mbu to take chunks out of the arowanas fins either.

Thanks
Ashley

an mbu is a mistake, if your aro doesn't kill it, it's only a matter of time before the puffer starts taking bites out of your aro, besides the difference in water chemistry needs

I would say a no go with Mr. Puffer. I personally would never keep a puffer with anything I value. Sorry not a big puffer fan. I think they are a pain in the arse and always seem to nip.

My jardini arowana currently lives with an exodon in a 120 gallon tank. As long as the exodon has a lot of space to swim, the arowana won't be able to catch him. They've been together for almost a year now so maybe, the arowan just gave up chasing him.

I have him in a 150gal (We just upgraded from a 55 a couple weeks ago) I am positive he is a silver not a jardini although I don't have any pictures on this computer. We got the bigger tank hoping it would make him happy so he doesn't pick on the others but I guess not! We have a shovel nose/redtail hybrid with him right now but we would like to get some other fish that he wont pick on.

As I said. Im sure he is a silver. Jardinis look way different. But here is a picture of him when he was littler.
