So how do i do it cuz ive been powerfeeding him with feeders to fatten him up a bit so he can go in my big tank and i think hes big enough now....any info and experiences will help....

Just stop giving him feeders, and keep offering the food you want him to eat. If he doesn't eat it just take it out of the tank. It may take him a while but he will come around when he is hungry enough.

I once had a dat that would eat nothing but live blackworms. He starved himself for 2 months before he ate smelt and shrimp.

dam 2 months?!! thanks...

yup, a little starvation will do the trick.

I once bought a 8" juruense raised solely on live food and was warned by the seller that it wouldn't eat anything but live fish.

who would've guess, 4 days later it started eating chopped shrimp.

i have a 4" one i never had to feed live i had a power head in the tank with the current flowing over a flower pot he would sit faceing into the current and i would just put the shrimp, krill ect in the current and when it touched his wiskers he would lash out and grab it, ive never seen him look for food he just sits there but unless you have good aim you might endup with a lot of uneaten food in the tank witch is why i only did it that way for about a week when he was 2" sence then ive ben feeding him by hand witch i like a lot better:) ,
