do you guys have any tips or advice for getting my pike off live feeders. the pet store was feeding him feeders when i bought him but i really dont want to be feeding live...
I use the "tough love" method. I will just feed whatever pellet I want it to eat or whatever, and if he doesn't eat it then he doesn't eat at all. Eventually the hunger forces them to eat it, at which point they realize it actually doesn't taste so bad.
ye thats what i figured i would do i just go him recently though so i did not want to starve him right away but now that hes got a couple feeders him in i will try that method, thanks for your help man
Yeh that's how I got my Barramundi onto pellets, I waited a few days just chucking pellets in, then when they took em I continued pellets for a wek, then put a few feeders in, now they have a fairly balanced diet of both feeders and pellets.
Hey all, I had the same question, and I tried the "suck it up buddy" method. Now I have a new question. How long does it take? I waited 4 days then couldn't bear it; went and got some ghost shrimp. Any advice?
You have to wait it out, the problem with this method is that there are some REALLY stubborn fish that will just die. . . one of the risks with it. Another problem is that once a fish gets to the point of being too skinny, it's not always possible to bring it back to proper condition.
