Hi All,

I have read that these prefer cooler temps.
But I do know of some people who keep them in a full tropical community.

Would option 2 be ok for them?

Thanks

They're fine until 80 degrees Fahrenheit on long term basis. What's your temp?

i have had 2. kept them around 77-78 f. i think much high could be bad for them

I would think that as long as they have nice shady hidey holes on the bottom of the tank they should be okay. I have one mini in a 78 degree tank and she's been alright for 5 months.

Dojos are a coldwater fish. While they will certainly live in temperatures above 70F, over the long-haul, it will shorten their lives if they are continually kept in water that warm or warmer.

Anything constantly above 70 really isn't good for them, though they will tolerate it. If you want your dojos to live out the full span of their normal life, which is several years, you should keep them in cooler water. Sixty-to-70 degrees fahrenheit is good.
