When my wife and I went on vacation in Mexico the first week of January I did a couple of big water changes on all the tanks just before I left. On the dovii tank I forgot to put the center glass back on the top of their 180. When we got home the first thing I did was go to the fish room to check my fish. I couldn't find my beautiful female dovii. I found her a couple of days later dried up under an aquarium stand. I have kicked myself ever since for forgetting that glass cover.
The male took over guarding completely. I have to move the fry to a grow out tank right off because he is losing a lot of weight just like the female used to when she was guarding fry. They are about 1 1/2 inches now. The guy that has been buying the fry isn't ready for them for a couple of more weeks and I hate seeing my male lose weight. This time I'm going to keep a few since its my last batch.
They were about an inch a few weeks ago. They really grow fast. Faster than any other cichlids I've bred.

Daddy last week really upset because I am up close to the tank. He really turns dark when he is upset.
