Build 3 PVC overflows
Move tanks on to new $125 steel rack from Home Depot
Make egg-crate tops for a bunch of tanks
Make egg-crate holding pen/tank divider for festae 110 gallon
Pics to follow as batteries are recharging for camera.
Two PVC overflows are going on the 110 to provide water supply to the 55 gallon sump/wet-dry/external monster filter. This filter will be going on the 210 once it's built into the wall. The xP3 on the 210 is enough to handle its current fish load.
The main reason for going to PVC is because the dual-pipe CPR overflow (piece of crap in my opinion) refuses to stop leaking from the bulkhead fittings. I couldn't find any silicone lube to lubricate the gaskets nor could I find any gaskets with large enough inner diameter to fit the bulkheads to replace the crappy ones CPR sends with the overflow.
One PVC overflow is going on the 40 gallon semi-monster wet-dry/sump to be temporarily installed on the 210 until it gets hooked up to the 40 gallon SW tank when it's setup.
The rack I bought from Home Depot holds 7500 lbs total instead of the 1500 lbs per shelf that the one at Lowe's did. It is a lot sturdier, but still features particle board shelves which of course require replacement with plywood and reinforcement with lumber for my purposes. I hope to get it put together and move the 7 10 gallons to the top shelf. I still need to measure to see if the 135 and 110 will fit. I think they will, but if not it will make a good place to keep all of the smaller tanks.
I bought 5 sheets of egg-crate.
The holding pen will be an 18" wide box with removable lid. I'll be able to separate the two pairs of festae outside of it and use the inside to separate male and female if need be.
I like the way that egg-crate keeps fish in the tank and allows good gas-exchange, so that's why I'm using it instead of glass tops or hoods. Cheaper too.
