Weeksii's munched on my BGKF :(

Can't believe what i've just seen my Weeksii had about half of the BGKF head first in it's mouth! The Weeksii is about 14 inch and the BGKF was around a foot in length. i opened the lid which disturbed the weeksii which released the BGKF but unfortuantly it's dead .

Sucks, i thought with the size being similar it wouldnt try out. Dont understand it though as i have a 2 inch Delhzi in there and i also have my ornate which i got at 2 inch there and theyre both gettiing along fine.

Anybody had something like this happen before?
 
Hi' It was happily simming around and eating a couple of hours before, the only thing i can think off is the BGKF kept going into the weeksii's cave and possible he just had enough and decided to kill it? i dont think it would of managed to swallow it all if i left it , most liekly choked on it due to the size so i'm happy im around as the weeksii was my first Bichir i got so special to me:)

Sorry for your loss:( What's your feeding regimen like? It's possible that if it was hungry enough, it would go after it since it's a slim fish.
 
I feed them alternating foods daily, have them on massivore pellets one day then mixture of dead food the next , such as prawns lance fish cockles etc. I dont think it would have been particully hungry as i feed in the morning for the more active fish and just before bed for the nocturnal fella's so they'l have time to eat.
