weened my bichirs off feeders today!

I went fishing and had some extra crappie fillets so i thought i would see if my Silver Aro,Ornate bichir, and Senegal would give it a try and they LOVE IT! Is this healthy for them? Thanks

if the crappie are wild caught you might as well feed your fish feeders from petsmart right out of the tank imo.

hmmmm, well i hear about people feeding their fish tilapia filets so i assumed that crappie filets would be ok :-/

Wild caught fish are potential carriers of parasites, that's the main risk.

Bake 'em unseasoned. That'll kill the parasites, if any are present. If your fish still like it, you're golden.

go buy frozen smelt and market shrimp. cheaper, safer, great results.
