What is the easiest way to get Florida gars off live feeders? I have had them since 4 inch and in a couple weeks they are like 6 inch.

Never kept Florida gar, but spotted gar in our pond took crickets and g hoppers, switching them from crickets to other floating foods shouldn't be to hard

also Massivore is helpful when making the switch to sinking if you gust give them a few they like the smell.

I tried hand feeding my Florida gar raw tilapia (with chop sticks...) for about 3 weeks before he finally accepted that. I was slicing the pieces in a elongated shape and with the chop sticks I was wiggling the thing at the surface... It was funny
So anyway after few months of largely feeding tilapia and raw shrimps this way I started stuffing the raw tilapia with cichlid sticks and did few weeks of that, eventually he accepted the sticks on their own
I feed him mostly North Fin floating sticks but also some Hikari sticks
