weening oscars on to prepared foods.

Ok... I've had some oscars for a while that had previously only been fed on pinky mice and feeders... the owner before me had gotten them to take frozen cockles too... i've been feeding them on various shellfish but would like to get tome on to at least some prepared pellets, etc, for balance in the diet.

I've tried floating and sinking cichlid gold... massivore delight... other pellets.... no avail.


what should i give them or do?

oscars are pigs and won't be able to hold out long. Just offer nothing but pellets and they will eventually eat them. It will greatly help if you have a trainer fish in with them that will readily eat the pellets.

Don't let 'em eat anything but pellets........they'll give.

put a drop of garlic juice on the pellets... see if they'll take then

just let them fast for a few days and try pellets, that was some terrible diet those fish were on

wow what a horrible diet! not sure what cockles are but they dont sound tasty lol. i would starve him a day or two-he will start eating it after a few days.. dont give in! lol
