I was trying to do some research as to how much my new tank weights.
For those also interested - here's some of the condensed information from http://www.anver.com/document/vacuum lifters/glass_plate_guide.htm
Now, I'm not sure if this is standard among types of glass - but hopefully it can help someone else as a rough guide!
1/4"-----(7mm)-------3.4 lb/ sq ft (0.023lbs/inch)
1/2"-----(13mm)------6.7 lb/ sq ft (0.046lbs/inch)
3/4"-----(20mm)------10.1 lb/ sq ft (0.07lbs/inch)
1"-------(26mm)------13.5 lb/ sq ft (0.096lbs/inch)
Geeze. This means I have 1100lbs of glass in my monster tank.
