Right due to killer ammonia levels I need to increase dramatically the amount of filtration on my tank. Using an ehiem 2228 and a wet/dry the big one?
Thinking of a weir and sump as the wife doesn't fancy the waste tube method in the tank.
Can someone with more knowledge of these things have a look at my drawing and check iv.e got the idea right??

Front to back is 7.5 inch
Top to bottom 8.5 inch
thinking of about 7 across the weir?
I think this will give me enough drop to turn the water 4ish times ph?

I was thinking of a 120L for the sump too???
:screwy:
Thanks in advance.

Increase the height of the wall on the inside (next to the down pipe) an inch or two. That way if the water stops it won't break your siphon. Other than that, it looks good to me.

Cheers Dr Joe.
The definition is great thanks I'm in Scotland UK so terminology probably different but you got the idea though...:D
The link is were I kind of got the idea and a few posts on here too. Unfortunately trying to get a HOB type overflow is near impossible the LFS sells 4 foot tanks and think there big
The oter problem is with the distance across the middle section it needs to hook over and miss the support brace or go over it this would take it into the tank by about 4 inch and my RTC would just knock it off.

you might want to extend the intake flood gate and put slits down to the water level to stop plants or small fish getting sucked up and stuck inside
