Weird algae. Can anyone help?

Hello; It may be a type of photosyntesizing bacteria. I have read several threads about it on this forum. A search may help. Some seem to feel it is from overfeeding.
I have had a couple of outbreaks. Once a few years ago when I had a setup with no snails at all and about eight months ago when the snail population crashed to low numbers.
I eventually used erythromycin and was able to get rid of it. Some caution about using this as it may well lead to antibiotic resistant strains of the bacteria.
I have since gotten the rams horn and MTS snail populations on the rise in a couple of my tanks . I have also been a bit more careful with the feeding.
If you do not have live plants then leaving the tank dark for a few days and doing a good cleaning may help.

yea man, you have a salt tank... Have you recently set it up ? Are you talking about the green bubble looking algea ? You should see the red and purple algea in my tank its nuts. If you could snag a better pic and point out what algea in there you are worried about it would help.
