is it normal for them to havge red eyes?

Yep, barramundi do have what appear to be red/pink eyes. It's really the tapetum lucidum (reflective membrane on the retina) reflecting light. The tapetum lucidum allows them to see far better than most creatures in low light situations. Interestingly, you can also get certain strains of barramundi with green eyes (the Weipa strain I believe), and they can also obscure it in some way so that their eyes appear normal. Not sure how they do it, but it does happen.
