so i fed my blue rams this morning, and they were fine. My 2 females were eating a swimming good. the bigger female always pics on the prego smaller female.

so i walk back to the tank to look at them later and the bigger ram was laying flat on the bottom not moving or breathing. just randomly died :(

what could be the cause

water peram's = 0, 0, 0 for ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate.

the smaller one is still good and follows my gravel vac when i was doing the water change right after i found the death.

whats wrong fellas?!?!

Rams are known for dying for no apparent reason... They are one of the more touchy species of cichlids IME. What temp is the tank kept at?

How long have you had them? Rams also have very short lifespans, although usually they waste away when they get old rather than dying quickly and randomly.

Edit: I saw your temp is at 82. It needs to be warmer for M. ramirezi, at least 84 - 85F.
