This young newly aquired fish has sprouted these growths....one on each side in the exact sme place. Any ideas??? Fish acts completely normal otherwise...eating and sifting.IMG_1385.JPGgrowth.jpg

Looks lymphocystis. Would keep the water clean and monitor for now. Update as the thread goes.

Just did some reading....sounds exactly right. Water conditions are very good.....Slight PH change from LFS where recently acquired. I will just wait and see....do the modules ever recede or drop off or is it a permenant deformity?

Should return back to normal. Doesn’t fall off.

I have no knowledge on this so please enlighten me a bit, is this thing harmful? I don't see why it would be unless it was on the gills or something that could affect the fish's ability to breathe/move, but I could be wrong.

I think kno4te kno4te is spot on. It is viral. They say it will go away but with my experience with kois, it will reappear like carp pox. It comes back year after year disfiguring the fish. I've seen it on fins, tail and on the mouth. I've tried scraping it off but still comes back. Carp pox get's smaller in warm temps but lymp is the opposite.
Hope you're more successful it ridding it.
