My JD starts pooing a normal brownish coloured poop and after a while it turns into white stringy poo. Is this a sign of a parasite? If so what should I be doing about it?
Yes it is a sign of intestinal parasites.I would use Jungle Parasite Clear as i've been told its good meds by a few MFK members.I've had to use it once and it toke care of my problem.
I've heard good things about Jungle, never personally used it. and Have used Prazipro a few times, and had great results, even with some of my more delicate fish. Just make sure to follow the same steps you would when "medicating" any tank. Increase water surface aggitation if possible and do WC's as the direction will tell you.
And that deffinately sounds like internal parisites. if THe fish either are refuseing ot eat.. or eating in excess atop it.. or either gorging and still looking scrawny. or not eating and looking "full".. I'de almost guarantee it. Personally I'de treat the whole tank. If one has it it's very possible others do. and you can take care of it in one fell swoop.
internal parasite, deermine which sort but use metronizadol and do it quick.
if its still eating then give it to him in food that way it will effect him quicker.

Cheers for the replies, is Jungle available in the UK?
What is metronizadol and is it available at most LFS?
The only medication I have ever had to use is for white spot.
He is acting normally, feeding ok but does have a bit of a belly, the Oscars have been pale for a couple of days but I noticed they were a lot darker before I turned the lights on so i have reduced the lighting and they seem better now.
