so i got a pair of 4 inch clown loaches ($40 for the pair). one is slightly smaller than the other. the smaller one is the only one i see, when i feed them it come out a eats half a pellet and then carries the other half back into the cave with the other loach. should i be worried?

They might need to settle in for a bit.
You might want to get at least 1 more though.

they only had the two and ive had them for months

I find cl´s only come out a lot when there´s a pack of at least 8-10. You might need to get a couple more as they are extremely gregarious

They also need dither fish, other small fish swiming around in the upper water, to let them know that it's 'safe' to come out.

It also seems to me that it can take several months or longer before they settle down in a new tank and start to feel comfortable.

:iagree: Actually, mine took only a week or two before they began swimming together around begging me for food wherever side of the tank I pace around.

Just as a reminder, quarantine. You'll regret it if you don't.;)
