weird looking fish I.D.?

So i picked up this fish from my lfs. I couldnt pass up on it cuz it looks soo cool. ive never seen this kind of fish before in any lfs ive been to or any online vendor but then again i usually never pay attention to these sorta fish. Its definitely a topwater fish from how its body is shaped and how it constantly swims at the top. Any idea of what it is?

i found them to be fairly common in my area.
A chain petstore called kahoot's used to get them in all the time, for cheap prices.

Vey active nippy skittish fish - might accpet pellets will eat small fish and insects
