Weird marking on motoro

A friend of mine emailed this today and asked me if I know what this is...

I am stumbled...any ideas ? It doesn't portrude at all...

There more around the outer part of his disk. It exist pretty much in between the spots. Could it be the spots developing ?

This is a thread that I am very glad to have seen; if I ever saw something like that on a pup that my rays have, I would worry quite a bit. Knowledge is power, in this case. Thanks!

Extra "epidermis" (skin) that the ray will grow into. This is a very simplified explanation. Harmless. - FM

when i had my young rays i noticed the same sorta things, never saw anything bad come of it

Agreed. Seen this before on one of my smaller, younger rays, didn't know what it was but kept a close eye and it went away as he grew larger.
