Weird Orino!

my cusiana orino just started this whole sand scooping ordeal like other cichlids. ive never seen a bass do it before tho.then he flares up at all the other bass and fans them?!

Mine do the same, only I have small gravel. Then he fans whoever is near him and he goes right back to doing it again, he has several spots he digs in.

I think its a combination of a few things; looking for food scraps and territorial behavior. My cichla do the same thing. nothing weird about it at all.
