I've noticed some very strange pimple-like bumps on a group of minnows I got in recently; the bumps are unlike anything I've ever seen on a fish. Well, one of the infected minnows was doing poorly, and quickly died- he had a particularly large protrusion on his side, which, after removing him from the tank, I lanced. There was some kind of worm within the bump, which was alive and visible to the naked eye.

I have the rest of them in quarantine. After searching the forums I could not find any info as to what this could be, does anyone know? Those last two pictures are pictures of the parasite that came out of the bump. It was moving and everything...

I would try meds or surgery(link down below).

The white is the steps I would change
Steps
1. Put goldfish in the tub.
2. Dose the 7.5mg bottle of clove oil.
3. Wait until he becomes unconscious (not completely!). I felt he was trying to fight back.
4. Lay him on a soft towel.
5. Cut slit on the pimple where the Parasite is located.
6. Use the forceps to pull out the worm.
7. Sprinkle water over fish if he looks like he is drying up. Still felt him trying to perk up.
8. Apply betadine on the wounds.
9. Put him in the hospital tank and encourage him to perk up.
10. Sterilize tools after this.

If this would not work, you can correct me:)

I have only seen this type of worm affect golden orfe. Fastest treatment was to remove them surgically if it's possible because sometimes the parasite moves deeper into the bodies of it's victims.
