Anyone have a guess as to what that patch is on my pickerel? It's slightly raised but doesn't appear to be fungus-like. Treating the tank with prazipro and Epsom salts. Suggestions much appreciated.

no guess? I know the second pic sucks but in the first one its pretty clear. Its just a light colored patch

I see it but can't tell, a clear close up might help. I've seen somthing similar on a gar that responded to metro but I can't be sure what this is.

Just looks like it scraped itself on something

That was my thought too, because it appeared literally over the course of maybe 6 hours. Not saying a disease or parasite couldn't do that but it seemed real sudden. That particular pickerel tends to chase things under the sponge filter so I'm guessing you are right, either that or the other one in the tank took a good nip at it over food.

I know its tough to get a closer shot of it...I honestly cant even get a good look at it in tank. It for sure has nothing growing out of it as of yet, just slightly raised off the skin like a bruise or bite.

On a side note I originally thought it was green in color which got me panicing a little, but she changes her color so often I think it was just a darker shade of green than she was at the time. When she darkens up after eating it is lighter than her skintone.

well...this morning the patch is completely gone, must have been a bruise, thanks guys!!!!
