Weird Pleco ID?

What kind of pleco is this? My buddy who gave it to me said it's from Brazil but I don't know much about plecos.

It's about 10" and has some crazy armour...check out the spines.

I have one just like that. It was sold to me as a "chaca mama" whatever that means. You don't want to hold it with you bare hands. It like holding a cactus
 
It's a Pseudacanthicus sp., potentially P. spinosus. Just look at the mouth for confirmation on the genus. The flash seems to wash out the fish's true color, leaving it looking black w/white spots on some shots, then brown w/brown spots on others. It might be one of the other L # pseudas ... can't tell with those photos.

Whatever it is, it is certainly a large one!

Yeah, the picture quality sucks...I need a DSLR.

The color is a dark grey, like graphite and the spots are a really light grey or off white.

It has some crazy teeth too...it doesn't really eat algae but prefers fresh shrimp and sometimes catches feeder goldfish.

I'ts definitely the weirdest pleco I've had.
