I think my Short Body, Bonsai Fadder has an issue. He went to town on some Krill one night. Now after noticing him being near the top level more than usuall. After closer inspection, it looks like his upper jaw/lip is very distended. Can fish dislocate their jaw? I'll try to follow up with a before and after picture if I can.

It is likely your fish hurt his mouth while banging the glass, now how serious is it?, post some pictures.

I used to have a zz malau who hurt his mouth in the same way, the injury didnt compromised his life however tthat injury kept the fh to completely close his mouth and he looked awful, eventually i sold him out because of it.

He pigged out and tried to eat all the krill he could one night. He might have done himself in , his feast was 2days ago and his mouth still looks weird. He won't eat either. Infact I think he isn't physically not able too.

Weird part is he is normally one of the least spastic eaters of the lot

I have the lighting low to reduce some stress too. Here's the before

he has duck lip.....put in hospital tank, 10gallon.....treat with Clout and some aquarium salt until his lip goes back to normal.....with this treatment you should see improvement within 3 days hopefully..... start treating immediately

I had 3 angelfish with dislocated jaws. 2 started withering away cause they couldn't eat so I euthanized them but 1 healed some how. It took awhile so hang in there maybe it'll heal on its own.

I have one set up actually. I don't have clout med on me. Anything else work. I was using salt in my larger tank (110g) with my temps around 80.

please dont raise the temp as this will speed up process of lip elongation and might be fatal, maybe try to cure it in temp. on the cooler side.Hope u see some improvement soon and nice flowerhorn there
