I have baby hypo boa that has recently shed after being in blue/shed for over 3 weeks (I have never came across this in the 20 years I had reptiles)
It wasn't a stuck shed either
I started soaking her for a while every day until she started to broke shed her self
I had to help with the face alittle with some still on it after I seen it's new skin I stoped everything and her put her back in her tank
These pictures are 5 days after

It's almost like she's scaleless in certain spots on her lower body
And it always looks dry
Even with descent humidity
Any ideas ?
No idea on sex not sure why I keep referring to it as a female

Hello,
It looks like she is going to need to shed again,
Are you sure that you are not drying her out with that overhead light,
What type of bulb is that and what is the wattage? Also is that an open screen top on your cage?

Screen lid put completely closed in
Wattage is 20,actually need a 30-40watt though
It's actually not warm enough it needs to be higher
Her humidity is around 65-90 depending on time of day and last mist
I've been keeping rainbow boas red tails and candoia for many many years no problems
I'm positive it is not a husbandry issue
This was her first shed with me
There is no signs of another layer of Shed on her at all it looks to be the actual skin

Strage. It realy looks like she is ready to shed again...

If your sure its not an error in your husbandry, she may have already had some kind of problem before you got her.
From the time a snake goes opague, until the time it sheds, should not take 3 weeks,
somethings not right. Bob

I still think more than one shed stuck....

In my limited perspective, if the snake is shedding constantly that means it's trying to recuperate itself (i.e. from a heavy scarring; although I'm sure you would've noticed something like that).

That's the only case I've heard of snakes having continuous sheds. Although the reality is certainly not limited to my "research".

Best of luck and keep us updated.

Hmm that is very strange, when my royal got stuck with a shed I placed him in a wet pillow case over night in his vivarium and this helped significantly
