well i did a 50% water change in my 125 gallon tank and i walked into my room 15 minutes ago and the entire inside of the tank was covered in a foggy white stuff, you could watch it build up on the front of the tank as the filter pushed it towards the from due to current. its almost like a powdery substance because when it hits it starts to dissolve and leave a large comet tail so to speak. im worried because it only grows on the sides of the tank where the sun doesn't hit (due to the window next to the tank) i cleaned the tank after me and my dad started brainstorming what it may be, so if anyone wants pics it'll have to wait till morning to see if it comes back

P.S i only noticed this one before right after filling up the tank and went away after a couple days. so i don't wonder if its freshwater that does it, which still freaks me out! please help!!!

TTT please anyone?

lol i was getting worried haha! no-one was giving my thread a second glance. i really hope someone who knows what this is come along, its making me nervous to know that there is something in my water and i have no clue how to rid of it!

well O's are very dirty have u replaced ur filter cartrages recently ???

the tanks been set-up for 2 weeks

I'm not 100% sure, but i'm guessing it could be due to an un-cycled tank causing the cloudiness in the water...

If not that, then it could be that your tank is doing a mini-cycle due to the water change as well...

just my 0.2 cents...

TWO WEEKS?! Why are there fish in it already? Definitely get your parameters checked and let us know.

But even once we know he's got ammonia, what does that tell us about the white fluff?

Whether or not its presence is fueled by subpar or toxic water conditions, look really close and try to visually pare it down to one particle of the fluff you see. Is it like a bubble? Like little worms? Like fibers? Every detail counts. And if it is granular, does it look more like salt or sand? Get as painstakingly descriptive as you can if you want a good guess at this. But your water quality will end up being the main topic, along with the cycling process.

i had the tank cycled before i put the fish in, i said set up for two weeks as in having the fish in it for two weeks after original cycle. i had a smal ammonia spike yesterday but got that down! when i was looking at the stuff it looked kinda like salt, but a little more fluffy looking and you could tell that there were multipul when looking at it. oh and my tank isn't cloudy, my glass is from this weird stuff. you think doing my water change yesterday could have done something?
