Weird test kit readings?

My 120 x 50 x 40 community tank has been running for nearly 6 weeks and I read that I should have an ammonia spike,soon to be followed by a nitrite spike then finally nitrate levels.Today I tested my water and the readings were:

Ammonia - .25 PPM
Nitrite - 0 PPM
Nitrate 10 PPM

Is this normal for a tank that isn't fully mature?
