I posted this in the disease form but didn't get much feedback, so I thought I would post here.....

I have about a 5" Oscar that acts very healthy. Active swimmer and excellent appetite. For the past couple months I have seen this white bump looking thing just inside his mouth. It kind if looks like a tooth. I will add some pictures but have no idea whether I should be concerned.

Dont quote me on this as im no expert in diseases for fish, but looks like it could possibly be cotton mouth fungus?

It does look like fungus but is the mouth always like that? Could be a malformed version of duck lips. Try some kanamycin/furan2 and salt 1 tsp per g. Will ask duanes duanes as he’s seen lots of it.

Since the growth has been visible for months, probably can rule out a bacterial infection or a fungus. It's more likely a genetic flaw, or possibly a viral growth. Either way likely nothing to worry about.
