Hi,
I joined today and would apriciate any advice I could get.

I have a 55 galon Walawi, and recently I fell in love with the big fish with the huge mean mouths if u know what I mean. I wasnt even aware until today that they are S. American Chichlids. I was thinking of geting max a 120 because I want a 4 foot tank becuse of space the 125 gallon is $50 cheaper but ts 6ft, I'd like to know if any of you can give me some input on what my minimum gallons is, if I want a nice mix of some big fish.
I like the flowerhorn, the bass etc.. the big the mouth the better lol.

Thanks,
Jack

Welcome, the answer depends on what you want, and how many. Bigger is always better.

welcome to Monster. The bigger the tank the better lol. a 125 would be okay but your getting lower in options. You could also customize a tank to fit in the 4' area but your cost will go up big time.

welcome to MFK! Good to have you here :)

Yes, I want bigger fish. But I dont belive I can get a bigger tank. unless it higher, but I think we need it to be longer or wider. I realy wanted the 120gallon but thats a 48x24x25 the 125 gal is 72x18x23 If you say the 4ft is to short I can push in a 6 footer, its actualy cheaper then the 120. but I want a nice mix some biger and some a little smaller if need but I do understand that they will all neeed to be the same demperment.

you can keep something like a jack dempsey in a 4 ft tank, and they are aggressive cichlids, just not that big
