Hello clippo,

Welcome to Aquatic Photography Forum. This online community is designed to give aquatic/freelance photographers cutting edge tips, tricks, tools, and insights on how to improve their photography skills. If you need tips or specific help, please post your questions in Photography 101. If you want to share your portfolio, please take advantage of our Gallery. Do not forget to participate in our monthly Aquatic and Freelance Photography Contest.

Enjoy your stay,
Regards,
Team APF

cheers for the welcome, I've been looking for a forum like this for ages.

Just as a bit of background, I have been into aquatics for years now, currently keeping small reef systems.

Hope to submit some images soon. I have just had one featured in January 2005 issue of Advanced Aquarist Online Magazine - photo spotlight section.

I also do stock photography for a number of LFSs in my area - possibly looking to upgrade my equipment in the near future - so expect questions!

Oh yeah, have you got any instructions on posting images on here? I am familiar with other boards, but can't seem to see an uploader, or an attachment facility?

clippo,

We are happy to have you here. Please share your portfolio with us either in General or Aquatic section.

Advanced Aquarist Online Magazine - Please post a link if you can ....

Unfortunately attachments are available for Contributors only. We are going to roll out Gallery / Contribution / Attachments Project within next few days so if you are interested in becoming a contributor and looking for space to upload images, have your eyes and ears open - it will be well worth it.

You can still use
Code if you have online space.

Welcome. In a global forum like this one, I think we count as neighbours :)
I've had a quick visit to your gallery and I want to go back for a good look around as soon as I can. Keep clicking that shutter button!

Hi Alan - yep, nice to know there's someone on here from my neck of the woods!

Most of the shots in the gallery were taken using an Olympus c2000 - not the most advanced bit of kit I admit, but has a nice blend of simplicity and acceptable quality IMO - particularly for the stock pics I am taking at present. Some of the better macros, including the advanced aquarist image, were taken using a Sony F717 that I borrowed from work. Obviously they aren't perfect! - I am learning all the time though and hope to get a higher spec camera in the next 12 months.... I like the look of the Canon Pro-1, not so keen on the 300D due to the lens cost etc....
