Hey guys in resealing an acrylic 8x3 and i have a few questions a few seams in.
I have a ripple or pucker at the top of one seam that has formed over curing what is this from? Im letting each seam sit atleast 8 hrs before moving it and its room temp with no diect fans.
Can i do a 2nd pass over a seam i have already done to fix this?
Also does it always heat up when you stir it? Ive mixed 100ml to 5ml and stired it with a chopstick for 2 min then banged the mix against my fan for a min before applying and i havent felt any heat? Also can you reuse applicators or measuring tools or do you have to toss it evertime you do a seam?

Great questions, curious myself.

Kind of freaky.... there is zero info on it for aquariumd.other than the few.posts on here so im trying to piece it together as i do my tank lol i hope its going well.... lol

When I repaired my 8x3 I had a blown out top steam that ran all the way across the back of the tank with a crack running across the top to the lid.

I used the thick weld-on products as the thinner stuff was not sealing well due to imperfect joints. I simply brushed it on like rubber cement very thick and held it for a couple of minutes so it would stay in place. Then I put a couple bricks on top of the area to help hold everything together.

***sorry, I just read your other thread and this seems to be a totally different issue.

I know that's a big tank but if you have the means to do so you could do a pour seam instead of applying it. stand the tank up on the corner you are re-sealing and brace it in that position, then pour the weld-on into the the corner until its decently even the entire length of the corner. This creates a much more even, and stronger repair imo.
