Hello guys I found some used (20mm) 3/4 inch pieces of acrylics for a cheap. I asked and it is most likely cast acrylic just wondering what do you guys think about welding multiple smaller pieces of acrylic togather to create larger sheets to make a tanks. it would be my first time welding acrylic togather.

If ur talking about “butt joining” pieces to make a longer sheet… very plausible. They do this all the time in mfg. u need to use weld on #40 or #42, leave a 1/8-1/4” gap and inject the glue into the void. After that u sand and buff the seam flush and clear. Not really a task for a 1st timer but its very plausible with some effort/practice. Weld on #40 is a 2 part epoxy and its chemical makup is basically the same as the acrylic itself. The joints are very strong if u follow the method i mention. The 1/4” gap between the sheets is very beneficial to the process.
