Well here goes. New 55 gal saltwater setup

I raise fresh water african cichlids and decided to add to the tank collection and try saltwater. Just started 12/30/11. I am going to take my time and let the tank cycle. Any suggestions on that end of it? I'm going to do fish/reef i have a 350 gph sump w/protien skimmer, calcium reactor, the local lfs owner is a buddy and hooked me up with great lighting. Going to do Fish/Reef. Also have 2 wave makers and extra equip from my old fresh water tanks. Going to let cycle for 1 week with just substrate, then add my live rock and a cleaner crew when water params are holding

Sounds like a good start. You won't need the calcium reactor for quite a while. What is the lighting?

Its a marineland t 5 ho he had it on his reef tank then bought a new setup for his
