I think working at a fish store can have it's advantages and its disadvantages, but it can ruin the hobby for you. My friend works at one and he got to the point where he got tired of fish and got rid of all but one tank cause he had to much money rapped up in it to get rid of it.
See, that's what i'm talking about!
I don't want to eventually hate fish, just get rid of this feeling of never being satisfied
with the amount of tanks/fish that I have.
At the same time I want to learn as much as I can.
I'm sure I will always have at least one fish tank for the rest of my life.

the only thing you will learn at a petstore is how to clean algae off the glass.
and maybe learn how to curse out a stupid customer.

I know I wouldn't want to spend all day taking care of tanks at work, and them come home and take care of more at home. It turns your fun into a job, and then you end up working all the time and then you can't escape your work. Just my 2 cents and best of luck with it.
