The time has come to isolate my beloved Flowerhorn !! He has grown to around 7" and now has become real aggressive.

I acquired him from Petsmart for $2.00. At that time no one at the store knew what kind of fish he was. He was with JDs, Oscars etc..... and he was sitting on top of the tank all scared....so I took him home.

As I only kept African Cichlids, his new home was with young peacocks and Haps. As he got bigger, I moved him to a 125 gallon tank with the adult Peacocks and Haps ---- he thrived in that tank.

But recently, the Flowehorn in him finally showed up....he started to become quite aggressive.

I can not part with him....never. Every water change, done weekly, he will come up to the top for me to pet him.....yes just like a little puppy. He soon became my favorite fish.

His new home ? A 75 gallon tank.

Can I get tank mates for him ? Blood Parrots perhaps ?

Most likely he will continue to grow and be less friendly to tankemates the less time he has them. I would 100% not risk tankmates in a tank that small.
