bought a 2001 pontiac grand am today ;) now I just gotta pay the sucker off ;)

yup. needed one. Hubby went off and got himself another job...

which, at the moment we're not sure if we're even going to make it out there or not..

*sigh*

we're about 95% sure we will, but we'll let ya know ;)

congrats on your new car. i'm kinda in the same boat, just bought a car for my wife. but i'm not sure how long until i HAVE to have something. :)

Yep, I'm in that boat as well. I want to buy all sorts of camera equipment but then I think that I have to buy more reptiles and stuff for that venture and then I realize that I'm going to need a new car soon! Oy! I'm just waiting for the year end clearance when they're trying to get rid of all the '05's and am hoping to score a deal on a new Ford F-150. If not then I'll go with a couple year old Explorer. By then I'll have my current Explorer pretty much paid off. Mine has treated me well...it'll hurt to say goodbye... *sniffle*

That is exactly why I lease :) :) I have 2 cars on lease right now, but it's easier for me, I write 'em off a little bit (surprisingly how little, I thought it would be more) for my business. But I like the fact that it's a "rent" and I get to keep new cars all the time, without "investment" into them. It's a fixed expense. Plus the warranty is always there.

Congrats on your new purchase. That will definitely hinder your gear purchases for the moment.

Good thing I have an Acura. These things don't break in until about 100k (at 52k).

We put way too many miles on our cars to do a lease. My b/f has put about 30,000 on his car already and he hasn't even had it a year! He bought an '03 Grand Am last year because his car suddenly took a crapper and we had no choice (both the tranny and head gasket went at the same time and it wasn't worth fixing). It was one of those "Oh, I guess we're going and buying a car today" deals.
