So...I had a Texas cichlids pair in a 75 gallon, and they laid eggs. But I kept wondering what would I do with all the babies? To my relief...a couple days later the eggs disappeared. I figured they ate them, which would not be too unusual based on forum talk here. So to avoid another situation, and realizing that a 75 is too small for a Texas cichlid pair, I took the female back to the fish store. A few days later....note the picture. Now I've got a single dad situation!

you should keep the fry mate even a small 10g tank i would stick them in get some new spectrum life fry food and feed them that. end of the day you can either give them to other people that want them or even make some of the cost of your hobby back by selling them. looking at the male do you not think all texas's should look that way?
im going to say "you need to" but if that was me in that situation i would go back and grab the mother.
push comes to shuv you can always get rid of what you dont sell by giving them away.

Go get that mama fish back!

Cichilds will move the fry once they get to the wiggler stage to hide them and better protect them.
If she still there, I agree with everyone you should try to get the female back. Their is not much more fun to watch then a pair of big fish doing what they do natually.
