Where the gators are
well went to the lfs today and saw they had sengal bichirs. been wanting one for awhile since my last one died so i got it. he was doin great ate the second he was in the tank. now hes dissapeared. :irked: think my 7 inch rtc ate him. never had a problem before. theres many fish between 1" and 5", he's never ate one of my fish and today i get a sweet fish about 5'' and hes gone in 30 min. WTH!! :( guess he looked to much like a worm. ill go through the tank tomorrow hopefully hes buried in the rocks somewhere.

The second day I had mne I thought he was missing to. So I started taking out rocks and found him he was just hiding. Hopefully that will be the case for you let us know.

yeah i hope so. my dad had one a long time ago and somethin happen to his tank killing all the fish (dont know what). and when he emptied the tank his was buried in the rocks still alive.:screwy: but you never know with a rtc.:irked:

I hope you find him just hiding. The RTC or other's may have caused him to stress and he's just being scarce for a day or two until he adjusts. Good luck and keep us posted.

you are literally asking for trouble for adding such a small fish with an RTC.

i knew it was a risk but theres other fish smaller than the bichir. i have 1 inch cherry barbs that have been in there since before the rtc and there fine.

oh well couldnt find him quess the rtc did eat him.:(
couldnt help myself though and got another one about an hour ago. hes in a floating box right now. so hes safe.:D but thats only temp.

I love RTCs, unfortunately I will never be able to house one.
