So last night I Decided- hey lets see what a black background looks like on my 25 gallon cube. I get all excited, prepare everything and as I go to remove my glass surface skimmer it breaks....water goes everywhere. So the first thing I do I pull out the glass Lilly pipe I had on the return So hard that the hose comes off the actual Fluval 107 canister filter. Which makes my canister filter tip over and all the crap water proceeds to fill my floor.

was it user error? I like to think not. So I clean up the mess. My wife was NOT happy with me. I apply the black background and hated it.

So I put a spare Seachem Tidal 55 on the tank as I have no spare Canister parts right now. I think I’m just gonna leave it.

glass is nice but man am I glad it’s gone.

sounds rough ....

Oh the perils of glass intakes and outflows.... While they are super clean looking, they come with a price. I have a black background and I kept the stock black intake and outflow tubes. You could barely notice them at first then when the plants filled in, they became almost non existent.

Did you actually break the cannister?

One thing I've found out over the years of fish keeping is that if something can go wrong, everything seems to go wrong at the same time.
