in my Tegu's cage
i was feeding my 2 ornates and sen market prawns i feed with the light off so my bigger ornate feels a little more comfortable coming out of hiding and i have these cheapo pair of night vision goggles that i use sometimes to watch them eat and make sure he is getting food. well i was looking around for my sen and i looked and couldnt find him and saw my ornate had something but i couldnt see from that side so i went around and saw my 5'' sen stuck in my 10-11'' ornates mouth tail first just past the whole tail. i turned on the lights and scared him and he let go and i put the sen back in the little tank in my room and he had a little bit of scraping but nothing major and he could still swim just fine and today hes doing great. i think it was an accident though since ive havent had problems before and i was during feeding. if i wouldnt have seen it i think the sen would have died eventually and possibly my ornate because he was trying to swallow him backwards and his spines would stick up in his throat. i dunno. my mistake. plus the sen is back with my other sen and knight gobies and seems to be more comfortable in the smaller tank.

Sounds like history repeating itself

It is a bit of a lottery with bigger fish,I put a 7" endli in the big tank and within half an hour one of my 12" endlis was trying to eat him so I rescued him,it is amazing what they will try and eat so I don't risk it now lol

Some have luck keeping small Polys with large Polys...some don't. I've had a 6" Sen with 11" Endlis...I always wondered when the time will come when I would see the Sen sticking out of one of the Endlis' mouth. I ended up moving the Sen so I wouldn't have to deal with that situation.

Weird thing in my tank is the only one that doesnt get any bother from anybody including my 22" RTG and 18" ornate is the 11" Del ?

i agree. my luck seems to be good, i have multiple 7-8'' polys living with 14-15'' ornates, 16-18'' laps and 12-17'' endlis and i've never had a prob but i know of many other cases where this situation has ended badly

they had been together just fine. i think he grabbed him on accident cause the sen is usually the first to find the shrimp and he possibly still had some in his mouth when it happened. but either way hes not going back in there anytime soon.
