well, i thought i had the tank secure last night, obviously not. I woke up to find my 11 1/2 inch snowflake moray eel behind the tank. I put her in the tank and im hopping shell come back as some people say that they do but i dont think its going to happen...

nope, now im just down to my picasso trigger that I have named Pablo Picasso. I have upgraded tanks, I am now in a 55 gallons (much happier for him). is there any type of fish i can add that he will/might get a long with? the eel and him were great, but now my mom said NO MORE EELS SEEING AS THIS IS THE SECOND ONE YOU'VE KILLED. I was so distraught earlier but everyone warned me and i HAD to have her so i guess my fault.

moral of the story: dont get a snowflake eel unless you yourself are a nite time person.

Or have a good lid.
It is possible it will come back. My fimbriate went for a slither one night and found him on carpet in morning totally covered in crap and fairly stiff. Cleaned him off in sink with tap water which wouldnt off helped but i thought he was a gonner so wasnt to worried and he ended up being fine.
Since this was yesterday though im assuming you probably werent so lucky.

well, i left her in the tank for about 5 hours yesterday. her eyes went all cloudy and stuff. I ended up giving the body to a friend of mine, he is going to try to see if she will live and if she does ill get her back, he knows more about them than i do. if her eyes clouded over does that mean shes a gonner

yea StarrLyte didnt make it, she passed away when she jumped. obviously she had been out of the water too long. i was thinking about maybe adding an assasi or a niger trigger to the tank so that Pablo Picasso wouldnt be alone. would that be a bad idea?

no now the tank is 55 gal, the 29 gallon is going to become a damsel and clown tank....

i imagine they are like snakes... if they can get their snout through, they'll get through the gap easily. Sorry for your loss... but all you need is a lid with no escape route.

iv never seen our snowflake try to get out ever! but it in a 200gallon with a 4 inch(just a guess) distance from the top to the water and is fully covered at night but not in the day.!! Just a fort but i could be that he finds a 55gallon to small and there for he feels the need to fink somewhere better.(like i said mine never even made an attempt to escape(but then if its at night I mite not see it)) is you water quality good this mite cores him to try to get out. instead of a cover how about wall around the tank mite work if he couldn’t get over it although cover is probably the best. a do have a worry about a trigger in a 55 gallon if its very small then it ok as long as you upgrade when he gets bigger then it mite be ok.
