Does any fellow mfker here use well water with a pulling pump installed? The houae currently have a well but the pump have been taken off service by the previous owner. If you have a well water with a pulling water pump please take a picture of it and describe how to start it up first.. its hasn't been used for good 5-7 years now.

i have one but i do not really know much about them.. sorry no pics either
but i do know if it hasnt been running for that long it will have to be primed.
im sure you can find info online about it.

Well's are either a shallow or deep system. Should be a 3inch pipeline with a 1inch pipe inside. But I'm going to say if the well has been off for more than a year, then the sand-point and screen are clogged up and the leather gaskets are dry rotted. You can try to prime the pump again by removing the outlet hose and filling it with water. ( this could take awhile, depends on how deep ur well is).

You can do a YouTube search of "how to prime a well" sry can't help more

Google how to prime shallow well pump.
If your pump continues to loose prime you can install a check valve in front of the pump. It will mask a leaking foot valve.

If your pump is above ground it's a shallow well. Below ground is a deep well.

My well pump is in my basement with 1.5" pipe into the concrete floor. I stuck a fish tape in until I hit bottom then pulled it out and measured it, 27' plus another 7' for the basement depth. That's puts my foot valve at 34'.
An above ground pump can only lift so deep. After a certain depth you need a submersible pump. There is nothing wrong with a shallow well.
You can find free water tests at Home Depot, you have to mail in a sample.

Guess I have to start think where to place fish tank in new house and plan how to use the well since pump setup is in the garage.. 1st I have to see if I still can pull water out since its not been used for good 5+ years...

Can you post the details of the well pump or at least some pics?

Is it still hooked up to electrical service?

You may want to have a well pump tech come out to check out the setup, especially if you are new to a well.
