What are your guys thoughts. I’m getting a wild caught l600 that I will add with my lda007 and was wondering if reminerlaized RO water would be better then using my straight tap water from our well. It’s very good well water. It has ph around 7.7, gh 15,and kh 15 and a tds around 78. My RO water would very closely replicate the water they’re from in the wild I believe. It would be ph of 6 or maybe a little lower, and very low kh and gh. I add discus trace minerals back to the water. What’s everyone’s thoughts?

So just learned the craziest thing. Totally forgot I have a really nice digital ph meter that I calibrated that I used for when I had a planted tank with a c02 system and just learned that my ph from my well water is 6.6 -6.7. Going to be pretty ideal for my plecos and all my fish. Really glad to know I can switch my main display tank with geo sveni to my tap water now especially after learning from Oliver Lucanis that they’re actually from alkaline water. All these years I thought they were from more acidic water. So my ph runs 6.6ish with a kh and gh of 15. Will still use remineralized RODI for my wild discus and wild altums. That ph comes outs st 6.5 and very low gh and kh which I use replenish and discus trace to remineralize. Big relief to know all this now haha

Figuring this out drastically just made my life a lot easier within the fish hobby haha. Very pleased i don’t need to worry about treating or mixing RODI water for the plecos or my geos anymore
